When people collaborate, magic happens. I honestly can't stop looking at these photos. I adored the light, airy, and open feel that Warehouse 215 at the Bentley Projects has. The exposed brick and open ceilings are enough to make anyone's heart sing who has a love affair with the past mixing with the present. The historic details alongside modern clean lines are gorgeous! Breanna and Jonanna's vision for this shoot was brought together perfectly by all those involved. I'm so excited that I got to be a part of it!
One of the questions I get asked most often when helping to plan the wedding day timeline is, "Should I do a first look?" The answer, I believe, is 100% up to you! It is a personal decision, which usually varies from couple to couple. I have photographed weddings where the couple has chosen a first look and others where they have not. Both are successful. Both are meaningful and both have their advantages. If you are stuck somewhere in between and unsure which might be a better fit for you, fear not. I'm going to chat more about it below.
This wedding was marsala, gold and floral perfection topped off with the sweetest couple and funnest wedding party! I had been looking forward to Ashley and Evan's wedding for a long time! Ever since their engagement session at Wild Iris Coffee Shop, I knew these two were going to have an amazing wedding. They have an effortless love that makes photographing them a blast!
When October 22nd finally arrived I was super excited because Ashley had been texting me photos of her meticulously picked out details for weeks. The woman has amazing taste and impeccable style! She brought it together in a way that was truly breathtaking! I adore most that Ashley and Evan stuck by their love of the environment and took that into consideration throughout their planning. From the plates that were compostable, to the wedding favor cups and glasses which were able to be recycled, to the decor details that could be re-purposed in their home.
Can you believe that all this beauty fit into just a few hours?! Ashley and Christopher's intimate wedding at Granite Creek Vineyards was stunning. The light was gorgeous. Their love for one another even more so. Small weddings tug at my heart strings because they remind me of my own. There is a quiet beauty in simplicity of the day and the closeness of those that attend. Their whimsical decor of peonies, ivory, blush and a little dark blue among the backdrop of the vineyard were perfection on a whole new level! Oh and let us not forget one of the most fun reception ideas I have seen yet! A caricaturist for them and their guests!
Congratulations Ashley and Christopher! I hope for you many many years of happiness!
Kevin's father said a few words during his toast that stood out to me. He told them that he "hoped they always choose to spend their wealth on experiences instead of things. May they always turn to each other, especially in the hard times, but also in the good." It is truly beautiful advice. Congrats Kevin and Logan! You are both wonderful individuals and together you are an amazing couple!
... During dinner I remember walking out into the field to get a pull back of the reception and I paused as I heard the sound of the party. I remember the sounds of laughter and conversations floating just above the music. So many people coming together to celebrate the love of two people. Jokes are told, old stories are reminisced about, introductions are made, and best of all there is always one in every group that gets everyone else up dancing. It's a wonderful thing.
Congratulations Jennie and Davis. Enjoy this beautiful beginning of the rest of your lives together and always remember you are loved and supported by so many. <3
This wedding is one that holds a special place in my heart. It was gorgeous for so many reasons. The Krassa Family are dear to me. You see, about 5 years ago when I started this crazy photography journey, the Krassa girls entered into my life. I never would have learned or would have grown the way I did without Kayla's patience as she modeled for shoot after shoot for her sister Taylor and I. To have the honor of photographing her wedding was so special. This time in front of my lens was different. This time it was 100% authentically her. I have never seen her look more joyful and more radiant than she did on her wedding day. Although I hadn't met David before I can see why she lights up when he walks into a room. They are two peas in a pod. They laughed non-stop. All. Day. Together their happiness overflows and spills out to fill up everyone around them.
What could be more perfect for a spring park wedding than photos in a hummingbird garden overflowing with desert wildflowers? The green tones complimented their wedding pallet, while the little pops of spring color matched their playful personalities. Smiles were in abundance this day!
Mandi and Zack your love and good spirits are contagious. Every one in attendance was instantly filled with joy. From the hilarious ceremony, to the heartfelt moments with family, to the celebration that lasted into the night; your love is obvious and pure. You both are so loved and I have no doubt that carries over into your relationship with each other.
Many many years of happiness to you both...
