Marshall + Bruhnsen | Phoenix Wedding Photographer

I've been to a lot of weddings. I have witnessed many beautiful moments beyond words. Moments that fill my eyes with tears and my heart with love. It's the best part of my job... that and all the cake I get to eat. Haha! Just kidding. That being said it was a privilege when I was given the opportunity of photographing something new and powerful. Logan and Kevin's wedding was that.

This was my first time photographing a same sex wedding, and I debated on even mentioning that. After all, it is about their love, not that the fact that they are both male. However, it was that very fact that moved me so much. It was a moment in which I realized that not long ago they were not even allowed to legally get married. When you see them together, you feel their love for one another. You can see it in their faces, it is undeniable. They deserve that right as much as any one else in love. To grow old married with the love of your life by your side. When those church bells rang out as they walked out of the church married, it was an amazing sight and sound. One I was honored to witness and will never forget.

Kevin's father said a few words during his toast that stood out to me. He told them that he "hoped they always choose to spend their wealth on experiences instead of things. May they always turn to each other, especially in the hard times, but also in the good." It is truly beautiful advice. Congrats Kevin and Logan! You are both wonderful individuals and together you are an amazing couple!
