A note to my one year old son.

You have brought so much joy into my world. Your little smile is contagious. Your giggle fills my heart. Your ambition to keep up with your sisters, which you adore so much, cracks me up. And the way you can hardly wait until Daddy gets home to play is the most adorable thing I have ever seen.

Soon you will get your first hair cut. At the exact same place and by the exact same person your father did. I will have to say goodbye to those golden baby curls to make room for a big boy style. However, not before a few photos to cherish.

You started walking over the weekend. Really walking. Like across the room fill mommy's eyes with tears kind of walking. And you are so proud of it.

You only like to feed yourself. After all, as I mentioned before, you think your such a big boy! But you still want a bottle, not a sippy-cup, at bedtime. You give the best baby hugs! You love to play the jump-a-jump game. Anywhere and on anything. It's the way I find you every morning. Peeking over your crib, jumping with a mischievous grin.

Almost an entire year has flow by. I'll try my hardest not to blink this next year. I don't want to miss any of it. So many firsts, your second year will be filled with even more. A new kind. I cannot wait to be there to hold your tiny hand as you explore life.

I love you my little man,

Son you’ll outgrow my lap, but never my heart.
