Some weddings completely steal my heart just a little more than normal. This was one of those. Everything about this wedding was breath taking. Alison ad Detjen's love, their welcoming family, an amazing ceremony that left not a dry eye to be found, and the location was jaw dropping.
This wedding was marsala, gold and floral perfection topped off with the sweetest couple and funnest wedding party! I had been looking forward to Ashley and Evan's wedding for a long time! Ever since their engagement session at Wild Iris Coffee Shop, I knew these two were going to have an amazing wedding. They have an effortless love that makes photographing them a blast!
When October 22nd finally arrived I was super excited because Ashley had been texting me photos of her meticulously picked out details for weeks. The woman has amazing taste and impeccable style! She brought it together in a way that was truly breathtaking! I adore most that Ashley and Evan stuck by their love of the environment and took that into consideration throughout their planning. From the plates that were compostable, to the wedding favor cups and glasses which were able to be recycled, to the decor details that could be re-purposed in their home.
What's not to love about blush, navy blue and gold?! Um... Nothing! Melissa and Joshua's vineyard wedding was beautifully put together with a lovely color pallet and attention to detail.
Rain clouds and light sprinkles forced us to think out side of the box. The Bridesmaids and I had fun with umbrellas while the Groomsmen and I gathered in the barn for a more masculine look to their photos. Right before Melissa ventured out to see Joshua for the first time the clouds parted and made way for a gorgeous break in the weather. The sun began to peek out for the ceremony and all was perfect! Together before friends, family and with a photo to remember a special family member who couldn't be with them but was watching from heaven, they said "I do."
Can I just say the camera loves these two! Photographing them was the best! They are truly a fun couple and I have no doubt that they will have an amazing time together jumping out of a plane on their honeymoon!!
Many years of happiness to you and your family Mr and Mrs. Toops!!
From the moment I first spoke with Niki about her wedding I knew it was going to be a big party! She wanted it to be fun and encompass who they are as people. A bit country with a dash of rocker mixed in. She even walked down the aisle to a Metallica song!
The ceremony began with a surprise for their guests. Niki was driven up in an old pick up and she was handed off from one father to the next where her and Todd saw each other for the first time that day. Amongst their family and friends Niki and Todd became Mr and Mrs. Wilson on Sunday, May 31st 2105 at Granite Creek Vineyards in Chino Valley, Arizona.
Large wedding parties are always a lot of fun! You can feel the love and support they have for the bride and groom. And it isn't too long, actually right from the start, everyone is ready to celebrate! And that is just what they did at a gorgeous evening sunbathed reception. Toasts were made, cake was cut and what looked to be nearly everyone there lined up for the Dollar Dance.
Nikki and Todd may you always remember the way you two felt that night. Love in your hearts under a sky full of stars!
It's pretty cool to see people you went to high school with get married. It's even cooler when they ask you to be their photographer! Amanda is such a bubbly fun person so I wasn't surprised that her wedding was that way. Packed full of surprise moments like a flash mob that broke out during the father + daughter dance and a very..well..let's just say exciting and unexpected moment during the cake cutting!
But also during their wedding day there were lot of moments that brought tears to my eyes. Amanda and Ben wanted to keep a little tradition and thus chose not to see each other before the ceremony. Instead she did a first look with her Daddy. I'm so glad they waited (although I am a big fan of bride + groom first looks) because the moment that their eyes met while she walked down the aisle was perfect. Gathered in a barn at the Cherry Creek Ranch in Dewy, Arizona they became husband and wife.
Congratulation Mr and Mrs Johnson! <3
Katrina ans Joshua's wedding has been featured on OffBeat Bride!
This was one of my favorite 2014 weddings! I adored photographing every quirky detail! Their wedding was a perfect example of what I think weddings should be... a reflection of the bride and groom's personalities. It is what makes your wedding stand out from everyone else. It's more than OK to stray from the norm. Especially when it turns out this awesome!!
