Austin Family 2016

Austin Family 2016

Fall is in full swing and that means family photo season is too! I adore this family!! I had so much fun exploring, playing and occasionally being silly in front of the camera for the Austin Family.

Meet Todd, Melissa and 4 year old Abigail Austin. I've know Melissa since I was 15 years old. It has been the absolute best watching her grow into the beautiful woman, wife and mother that she is. Photographing those you love is one of the most rewarding things as a photographer. Capturing these moments means the world to me. Enjoy these memories for a lifetime!

Hello world. Laken Dale

Hello world. Laken Dale

This morning was a special one. Today the world welcomed Laken Dale. Seven pounds and two onces of pure sweetness. My heart is so full for the wonderful family he was born to. You see, they are special too. Dear to my heart. Laken's beautiful mama is one of my best friends. From the moment she told me that her family of three would soon be four I was overjoyed.

Only 5 hours new and I can already see how he reflects his family. Laken has the same little nose and tiny chin as his brother. His precious little face holds the same expressions as his father and his heart will undoubtedly be as kind as his mothers. He is perfect. I cannot wait to watch him grow.

Congratulations Clint, Janess and Zane. on the newest member of your family. <3

Baby Jax

Baby Jax

Sweet boy. You are so loved. Loved like crazy.

I knew from the moment your mama told me she was pregnant you would be coming home to the most beautiful family. To a daddy who's face lights up when he holds you and to a mother who's world you light up. Little Jax you make the cutest noises. Squeaks and coos while you are dreaming. Keep doing that...You've got mom and dad wrapped perfectly around your tiny finger.  You are so very adored by two fur babies, with lots of kisses to go around, you'll never be lonely. George (the pug) will see to that personally.

Take your time growing up. Dream big. And always remember to hug your mama.

McLean Family

What a beautiful and blessed mama with four amazing children to love! I'm so happy that I got to photography Jody's family. One of the things we tend to hold most precious are photos of our children. Far to often as mothers we forget the importance of also being IN those images too. We must remember to take time to step out from behind the camera (or cell phone) to step in front of the lens. Be present in photos for our children. One day they will look back and cherish those pictures as much as we do now. One day you will thank yourself. <3

Boogers, Bath time and my Boy

Boogers, Bath time and my Boy

My lil' man turns into a WILD man in the tub. It's his favorite time of the day. His laughter and joy at such a simple thing reminds me to also enjoy the small things in life. Reminds me to put down my phone and be present in the moment. As well as when the moment is right to pick up my camera >NOT< my phone and capture those memories. Maybe someday he'll be embarrassed. Maybe someday he'll love that I took the time to take these images. Even if he doesn't his future wife will! I adore the photos my mother-in-law gave me of my husband as a baby! I look at them and see how much our kids look like him.

This year is proving to be my busiest most successful year in business. I never want to be so busy that I forget to notice the tiny moments that mean so much to my children. Someone once told me "Listen and watch the little things when they are young and they will come to you with the big things when they are older."

I'll be here when that time comes. Heart and ears open. But for now, I'll enjoy the fact that most likely in just a few short hours he'll be covered in boogers, his dinner, or dirt from playing outside. Back in the tub he'll go and I'll be face to face with that beautiful baby boy gap toothed smile.

One of the best parts about being a wedding photographer is getting to see my brides and groom's families grow. Watching their life's change in such an amazing way. It's beautiful.

It's been over 2 years since I had the honor of photographing Sabrina and Andrew's wedding in Flagstaff, AZ. Their daughter, Anabelle, was only two months old then. Now she's two years old and FULL of personality. She's still pretty unsure of her brother, but I have no doubt that before long she will realize just how fun he is! Maybe even make the connection that he is like a real life baby doll! It's just a matter of time before she adorns him with her Elsa's crown or covers him in stickers (or in the case of my little guy his sisters added "friends" to his tummy time).

Theodore's teddy bear room couldn't have been more fitting. How clever are they with that theme?! He loved to snuggle with his Teddy. It was adorable! <3 Congratulations Sabrina and Andrew. He's perfect and I am so happy for you!

Happy Valentine's Day from Baby Titus

Happy Valentine's Day from Baby Titus

Mama, watch out! You've got a heart breaker on your hands!

I cannot believe it has already been 7 months since Titus's newborn session. Where did the time go?! He's one of the happiest little guy's I've ever seen. He was smiles during his session, which made my face hurt from smiling back at him. I'd say that's a pretty good problem to have! I adore this little family for the fun time they have while I shoot. They play. They laugh. They love. And it shows!

And what gorgeous weather and lovely light we had! It is February, right?! Just another reason I love living in Arizona!

World, meet sweet Alivia. Six weeks new and perfect in every way.

I can't describe what an honor it is to be welcomed into the home of a family with a newborn. I walk into a new fresh time in a parents life. A time when every thing their precious baby does is brand new and fascinating. I remember what that was like with my own children. I could look at their tiny features for the longest time and never get bored of them... now I get to capture that for other parents who understand that exact feeling so completely.

Philip's first trip around the sun.

Philip's first trip around the sun.

I started this monthly project when Philip was just one week new. I made myself a few simple rules. ONE: take a photo every month. TWO: document his weight, height and accomplishments. THREE: he would wear stripes (for no particular reason other than I love stripes). This project is not technically perfect. In fact the light is often terrible, but the memory... now that is perfect. Today Philip turned one year old and when I look back on that one week old photo my heart bursts with happiness.  He brought a completeness to our family that I didn't even realize was missing. <3 Congratulations little man on your first trip around the sun.
