Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Treat yourself or the one you love with a boudoir mini session that they'll never forget!
This session was pretty neat for several reasons. Not only are April and Richard great people, but this was the first time either of them have had professional photos done! In fact they have hardly any photos of the two of them together at all! Being able to show them and the world the love they have for each other was so wonderful.
Despite the crazy weather we had been having they were both willing to go on a little hike down into the Granite Dells. The sky was so beautiful which totally made hopping from rock to rock to find the perfect spot worth it. I adore how these two giggled through their session. Laughter in photographs is the BEST! It brings out something inside that can't be faked.
Looking forward to thier wedding at the Capital Canyon Club in August. It is going to be so lovely!
Rainey and Tyler's engagement session in the aspens of Flagstaff had a romantic winter feeling that makes me want to grab my favorite throw blanket, snuggle up with a cup of hot coco and swoon! These two are nothing short of adorable! They found all the warmth the needed in each others arms. Surrounded by tall white aspens that stretched for the sky in an effort to soak up the last rays of daylight, we found our own little corner of the mountain. There Tyler added their initials into a young aspen. I'd like to think that one day they'll return and search for that tree. By then it will be old and strong, just like their love.
This wedding was marsala, gold and floral perfection topped off with the sweetest couple and funnest wedding party! I had been looking forward to Ashley and Evan's wedding for a long time! Ever since their engagement session at Wild Iris Coffee Shop, I knew these two were going to have an amazing wedding. They have an effortless love that makes photographing them a blast!
When October 22nd finally arrived I was super excited because Ashley had been texting me photos of her meticulously picked out details for weeks. The woman has amazing taste and impeccable style! She brought it together in a way that was truly breathtaking! I adore most that Ashley and Evan stuck by their love of the environment and took that into consideration throughout their planning. From the plates that were compostable, to the wedding favor cups and glasses which were able to be recycled, to the decor details that could be re-purposed in their home.
Meet the Halle and Joyce families. What wonderful people they are! We recently moved into a new neighbor hood and are lucky enough to call the Joyce's neighbors. I remember the first time I met Sarah she instantly made me feel welcome. She showed up on my door step with the biggest smile and invited the kids and I over for a play date. Her sister Helen's family was exactly the same way. Warm and kind. Both families are new to Arizona, so shooting at American Ranch was the perfect location for their session. Not only did it encompass the rustic beauty they have been enjoying since they moved here, but it is also where they are boarding the family horse. I have no doubt he will be making an appearance in future photos. They all adore him!
Big hugs to both of these sweet families!
You know what is so much fun? Watching a family grow up. This year marks the third year I have had the pleasure of photographing the Jazwinski's. Their playful and patient nature always makes their sessions lovely. It's no wonder I have come to look forward to getting an email from them each fall. I hope I have the honor of capturing their memories for many years to come.
Oh my goodness what is better than a couple in love surrounded by fall color and crisp cool air? Nothing! That's what! Destiny and Todd's session was so much fun! These two made my job easy. They melted into each others arms, as newlyweds do, and were even up for exploring and wandering off the path through waist high grass. I'd say it was completely worth the all stickers that clung to our pant legs! I adore their outfit choices. You can't go wrong with simple neutral colors like black, gray and muted green. Neutrals always look great against colorful backgrounds. And what a beautiful background we had! Autumn in Prescott is so lovely.
It was 5:30 am and still dark outside when I walked to my car, hopped in and turned the key. I couldn't wait to watch the sunrise over the Arizona desert. What was going to make it even better was that two incredible people were visiting all the way from Seattle, WA. This morning they were going to get the chance to get the photos they were not able to on their wedding day.
One year ago Jake and Sam got married in beautiful Sedona in the pouring rain. Literally. They stood outside with loved ones huddled under umbrellas and said "I do" in the middle of one of the rainiest monsoon days I'd seen all year. Although we managed to sneak in a few photos in between downpours, I always felt like they deserved more.
A warm sun kissed the horizon as we pulled over along side the road and quickly crossed the dirt road. We stood there for a moment, just watching. It was breathtaking. Then we tiptoed through the cactus (walking through cholla covered ground in sandals made for quite the adventure) to the perfect back lit spot. I'm so thankful that we decided last minute to fit in an anniversary session during their visit because Jake and Sam have such a fun love. I adore these two and I hope that it's not the last time I get them in front of my lens!
"The hunt is over" for Erin and James! They are getting married next summer in Chino Valley but we thought we would mix it up with a change in scenery by heading to Sedona for their engagement session. I had a great time walking creek side with these two at Sedona's Red Rock Crossing. Their cozy flannels and camo perfectly suited who these two are. They were right at home out in nature. Even though the area was filled with tourists (its that time of year after all) you would never know it. It was like they were all alone, lost in world all their own.
I can't think of a better way to put into words what it means to be expecting a child. The amazing excitement. The nervousness. It is such a beautiful time. This gorgeous mama to be is Yelena Coil. Not only is she breathtaking on the outside, she is just as much on the inside.
Dave and Yelena live in Phoenix and made a trip up to Prescott for their maternity session. Everything about that evening was perfection. The light was amazing and every time the breeze caught her gown I couldn't help but be taken a back. Lena was even brave enough to get into the lake for some truly stunning images!
I'm so honored to have them in my life. to call them friends. I cannot wait to meet their son! Only a few more weeks to go!!
Fall is in full swing and that means family photo season is too! I adore this family!! I had so much fun exploring, playing and occasionally being silly in front of the camera for the Austin Family.
Meet Todd, Melissa and 4 year old Abigail Austin. I've know Melissa since I was 15 years old. It has been the absolute best watching her grow into the beautiful woman, wife and mother that she is. Photographing those you love is one of the most rewarding things as a photographer. Capturing these moments means the world to me. Enjoy these memories for a lifetime!
